Prius Tops Forbes’ Best Commuter List; Corolla, Camry Hybrid Also Cited
The Toyota Prius ranked No. 1 on Forbes magazine’s “Best Cars for Commuters, 2011” list issued today. Forbes determined the rankings based on the best combination of highway fuel efficiency, legroom, headroom and reliability. The Camry hybrid and Corolla were also named to the list. “More than 42 million Americans spend at least 30 minutes in the car on their morning commutes,” the magazine noted. “For that kind of time spent in traffic, it pays to have a reliable car: something spacious enough for comfort, small enough to get good gas mileage and durable enough to withstand the occasional fender-bender.”
