Did you know…?

You can program the 2010 4Runner keyless entry transmitter to remotely operate the power windows and (if equipped) sunroof.

This function is referred to on page 47 of the 2010 4Runner Owner’s Manual and  applies to both conventional keyless entry and Smart Entry and Start™.

  • After programming holding the “unlock” button on the remote keyless entry transmitter will open the windows
  • After programming holding the “unlock” button on the remote keyless entry transmitter will close open windows
  • After programming holding the “unlock” button on the remote keyless entry transmitter for approximately 1 ½ seconds opens the sunroof
  • Unlike other automatic locking and Smart Key™ function customization is handled in the Service Department and requires use of the Techstream™

For delivery…

  • Ask your 4Runner customer whether he or she wants these functions activated and handle the customization before the final delivery of the vehicle.

In inventory…

  • You might want to make this customization part of your dealership’s Make Ready procedures so that your Sales Pros can build value in the 4Runner, especially with hotter weather looming.

How to do it…

  • The procedures are to be found on TIS, Repair Manuals (R/M), 2010 4Runner, Power Window Control System, Customize Parameters and Sliding Roof System, Customize Parameters.

Will it work on any other Toyotas?

  • Yes, Land Cruiser  (The same type of programming is required)

Cool, huh?
