Daily Tips – Toyotathon 2009: Sienna All-Wheel Drive

Every year Toyotathon makes owning or leasing a new Toyota an even better deal than usual. While incentives help reduce the overall costs of ownership by sweetening transaction prices or finance terms the high value built into every Toyota doesn’t change.

Think Leasing! – December is an ideal time to look at leasing a new Toyota. Residual values may change in January and, with the change of year, may drop a percentage point or two. Combine currently high retained value projections with reduced prices and favorable lease terms and now is the time to become a the proud driver of a new car, Sienna, truck, or SUV.

With TFS Special Lease and Finance incentives to sweeten the deal:

Feature

Of all of the vans in Sienna’s competitive class, only Sienna offers All-Wheel Drive.

Function/Advantage

Sienna with All-Wheel Drive provides the utility, stability and traction of a crossover SUV and the interior capabilities of a van.

Technical Information and Details

The Sienna All-Wheel Drive system like that used on Highlander sends 50% of the power to each axle on a full time basis. A center differential allows the front and rear differentials to turn at different speeds when cornering to prevent binding.

Traction to individual wheels is managed by the traction/vehicle stability control system. Active traction control (A-TRAC) can apply braking to a spinning wheel to transfer power across the differential to the opposite wheel, or transfer power through the center differential to enable either the front or rear axle with best traction to perform.

Because the drive shaft runs through the area normally occupied by the spare tire under the Sienna, the AWD model is equipped with run-flat tires. These tires can be run for up to 100 miles at speeds under 55mph if punctured and deflated.

Customer Benefit

Sienna AWD gives owners travel options and performance not found on the competition.
