Daily Tips – Toyota Value 2010: 11/18: Toyota Automatic Door Locking

Why do smart buyers choose Toyota?

Could it be because Toyota vehicles (Scion, Toyota and Lexus) are the most reliable you can buy, according to Consumer Reports?

Do the buyers who buy Toyota usually feel smarter than their competitor-driving peers after they have owned their car or truck for awhile?

Why is it that Toyota is at the top of the chart for resale value?  If not the absolute best in class all Toyota models are virtually always right there

The value in every Toyota is a combination of the engineering and design, choice of materials, production quality, and customer support.  That means that you and your dealership are a big part of the Toyota value story.

Toyota got where it is today by practicing kaizen, continual improvement.  Your customers are getting better and better informed and more and more focused.  To keep up with your market you will want to learn or do at least one new thing a day that will add value to your next Toyota transaction.

Feature

Most Toyota vehicles feature standard or available automatic door locking.

Technical Information and Details

From the factory the doors will lock when the gear selector is moved from the “park” position and unlock when the selector is returned to “park”

Locking can be programmed to occur when the vehicle speed reaches 12 mph instead of selector linked.  Some owners find this more convenenient.

The unlock function can be decoupled from the gear selector also unlocking the doors only when the driver’s door is unlocked.  Some owners see this as a higher level of security.

Instructions for this driver-programmable feature are in the vehicle Owner’s Manual.

Note:  Tundra models without a multi-information display require service department assistance in programming.

 Customer Benefit

Toyota owners benefit from added safety and convenience.
