Daily Tips – Countdown to Sienna: 01/21 2011 Sienna Power Doors

In January 2010 the first new-generation Toyota Sienna vans will begin to arrive in your dealerships.  The addition of an available 4-cylinder powertrain later this spring just adds to a ground-up redesign featuring class-leading features and capabilities.  To point out just how far ahead of the pack this will put Sienna, you only have to look at the advantages that the current Sienna has over its competition.

The first 2011 Siennas are on their way.  They have features that push Sienna into a whole different universe from the existing competitors.

Sienna Feature

2011 Sienna features wider side sliding door openings and power sliding doors both left and right on V-6 LE, XLE, SE, and Limited models as standard. A power rear lift gate is standard on all XLE and Limited models.

Competitive Advantage / Function

The sliding door opening on all Sienna models has been widened by about 2 inches.  Combined with the Long Slide 2nd row seats this provides class-leading access to the 3rd row seating, as well as added cargo handling convenience.

Power sliding side doors with both jam and pinch protection are standard on all models except Sienna grade and LE 4-cylidner.  The are available on LE 4-cylinder as part of an extra value package.

A power rear lift gate with pinch and jam protection is standard on all XLE and Limited models.  It is available on SE as part of SE Preferred Package.

Technical Information and Details

Sienna sliding side doors include hidden upper tracks that are integrated with the base of the rear side windows. This creates a more finished appearance than found on Odyssey or Sedona where the track is cut into the rear quarter panel.

Power windows with auto/up down are standard on all Sienna doors.  Chrysler, Dodge and Kia van side doors have fixed glass.  Auto up/down is confined to the driver’s side front door window on Kia and Honda.

For 2011 the remote keyless entry and Smart Entry and Start™ key fobs provide remote operation of both left and right side doors.

 Customer Benefit

Sienna owners benefit from added convenience and security.
