Consumer Reports Reinstates Recommendations on Eight Recalled Toyotas
Consumer Reports announced today that it is reinstating the recommendations for eight Toyota models that were recalled in January. “We believe that Toyota has adequately addressed the problem of unintended acceleration and that its new vehicles on sale now are fundamentally safe,” the consumer organization said in a blog on its web site. The move means the Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, RAV4, Sequoia and Tundra are all now on the Consumer Reports “recommended list”. The move coincides with the strong performance of Toyota, Scion and Lexus products on Consumer Reports Annual Car Survey (see story below).
